Composite decking is typically made from a combination of different materials (namely, wood and plastic), which are processed to give the appearance of wood. Both the wood (which consists of lumber industry by-products like sawdust, chips and wood fiber) and the plastic can be made from virgin or recycled material.
Backyard Images Inc. uses capped composite decking boards which feature a core and a cap. The inner core is a wood by-product and plastic mixture, while the protective outer cap is a 100% polymer material that contains no wood material for moisture to latch onto and deteriorate.
What is PVC Decking Material?
Made from 100% PVC (polyvinyl chloride) which is completely insoluble to water, making this the most durable decking material with the longest lifespan. It’s fade and stain resistant maintaining it’s rich color for decades. PVC will not splinter, crack, peel or rot and it carries a higher fire code rating than wood or composite. The PVC decking used by Backyard Images Inc. is covered by an industry leading manufacturers warranty. On top of all that, it’s made in the USA from approximately 60% recycled material. For durability, looks, and sustainability, you can’t do better than PVC.

These standards include: Screwed down decking ensuring a long-lasting smooth surface; Double ledger board flashing; Exterior trim (skirting separate); Riser boards on stairs; Galvanized hardware; 4×4 bolted handrail posts; Gravel; Weed barrier.
